Social Distance Picnic - 13th September

A big thank you for commenting / getting in touch with us regarding the date of our picnic event. We have decided to hold it on 13th September at the beautiful Senzoku-ike park in Ota City, Toyko. Please let us know by Thursday, 10th Sept. if you are going to attend!
The picnic will be Potluck style, so please bring something to contribute.
On the day, CDS committee member, Bethany, will be waiting at Senzoku-ike Station from 12:55 until 13:10 to take you to the picnic spot.

We at St. David's Day Society have been very lucky to have been invited by the Carbine Club of Tokyo, a branch of the Australian sports orientated club to join them the day before Wales play Australia in the group stages to celebrate this occasion, all in aid of charity. This invite we extend you our members. The Australians have managed to secure a number of major names in the Australian Rugby World and we have also managed to invite an ex Wales International to join as our guest. To find out who, you will need to attend on the day.....

This will be a great opportunity to celebrate this fiesta of rugby, rub shoulders with our Australian friends (or enemies the following day) and to meet some of rugbys famous faces, including our very own Wales ex-international guest and more.

On March 1st, 2017 CDS will be celebrating St. David's Day at Bon Marche in Tsukiji.


On the menu, there will be roast lamb with mint sauce and much more, including plenty to drink and lively entertainment.


As well as this, Caws CennarthPenderyn Whiskey, South Caernarfon Creameries will be setting up a sampling table for you to taste their delicious produce. And should you want more, you can order on St. David's Day and have it delivered to your home later.

Lecture on Celtic Countries, Aug/Sep 2016

Yoshifumi Nagata, the author of 'Wales?! Cymru'; 'Travel Around the Celtic World in Great Britain and Ireland' (Akashi Shuppan)and 'Basic Welsh (Welsh language no Kihon)' will give a series of special lectures on Celtic countries in the United Kingdom, at the Asahi Culture Centre in Shinjuku. If you are interested in learning more about the Celtic world and its rich history this is not to be missed.
